DIY Paper Rose Tutorial
Materials You'll Need:
- 4 pieces of paper (7.5 cm x 7.5 cm) for the rose
- 1 piece of paper (7.5 cm x 7.5 cm) for the stem
- Scissors
- Hot glue
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Create the Petals
Fold the Paper:
- Take one piece of paper and fold it in half.
- Fold it in half again.
- Fold it in half one more time.
Shape the Petals:
- Draw a curved line to mark where the petal shape should go.
- Cut along the line.
- Snip off a tiny piece at the pointed end to create a small hole.
Repeat:
- Make a total of four petal sets using the same method.
2. Trim the Petal Sets
- First Petal Set: Cut 1 petal off.
- Second Petal Set: Cut 2 petals off.
- Third Petal Set: Cut 3 petals off.
- Fourth Petal Set: Cut the set in half.
3. Assemble the Flower
Glue the Petals:
- For each petal set, glue one petal and overlap it with the next to form a cone shape.
- For the 1-petal and 2-petal sets, roll them into small cones and glue them.
Layer the Petals:
- Start with the smallest cone (1-petal set). Apply hot glue to the bottom and place it inside the next larger cone (2-petal set).
- Continue layering the cones, from the smallest to the largest.
4. Create the Stem
- Take the 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm paper for the stem.
- Roll it tightly into a tube shape.
- Apply glue to the top of the stem and attach the rose.
5. Final Touches
- Gently roll out the edges of the petals to give the rose a realistic look.
